Welcome

You are invited to share with me the Joy there is in creating Art. I mean the "I can do it" and "it's fun" and "it's beautiful" kind of art, whether it is "museum quality" or not. Here you will find some of what I like to do and, I hope, share some of your joy, too.

Welcome to my blog, Rae Ann.

St. Patrick's Day Card - My Sheri Crafts and other Challenges

Many times when I see a challenge my mind starts composing a layout and working it out before I even touch paper.  That DID NOT happen here.  Instead, I looked at various challenges and decided how I could make a card that would fit in to them.  I'm not as happy with the result.  I definitely believe that letting the card guide me, instead of me guiding the card, works best.  Anyway, here it is, along with the challenges it is being entered in.

Click on the name of the challenge to see other entries at their site.

Pile It On  -  theme: spots and stripes.  Although it's hard to see the twine wrapped paper is dotted.

Fantabulous Cricut  -  shamrock and green.  The leprechaun is cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge.
The word 'celebrate is from the Holiday Cakes cartridge.  Since I don't have a shamrock cut I used a heart from George & Basic Shapes to make the 4-leafed clover and the shamrock.

Bitten by the Bug 2  -  include a shamrock and a cricut cut.  (described under Fantabulous Cricut.

Made Especially for You  -  use twine and a St. Patrick's theme.  I made my own twine by using permanent marker on cord, then tried entwining it around the dotted paper.  I think I would have liked it better if I just wrapped it vertically.

My Sheri Crafts  -  make an easel card, include a shamrock.

Be sure to visit these challenges and see other entries.

Happy Creating.
