Welcome

You are invited to share with me the Joy there is in creating Art. I mean the "I can do it" and "it's fun" and "it's beautiful" kind of art, whether it is "museum quality" or not. Here you will find some of what I like to do and, I hope, share some of your joy, too.

More Birthday Cards for BBTB2

Hello, again.
At a recent Papercraft Show in this area I found the clock/watches embossing folder I've been looking for.  I thought it would be a great background for birthday (and other) cards.
I decided to use the Cricut Create a Friend characters.
I like to make more than one birthday card at a time, too, so I came up with these.

I think I found the balloons and gift cuts in the same cartridge.

I'm entering these in the Bitten by the Bug 2 Birthday challenge, also.
Make sure you visit the blog.  Get inspired by the designers and entrants.
Thanks for looking

A Sweet Birthday Box for BBTB2

Hello, again.  It's been a long time.  I haven't been blogging but I have been doing a lot of card making.  I decided it's time to enter some challenges again.  This card is being entered in BBTB2, Die Cuttin' Divas, and Paper Play Sketches.

Cartridges used were:
All Occasion Box Cards for the navy blue base, cut at 5 1/2 "; stars cut from sh-F4-9.
Create A Friend, cut at 2 1/2", and modified from the 'teacher' figure;
Sweet Treats, for the ice cream, cut at 3", the cake cut at 1 3/4" and the cake slices on the side flaps also cut at 1 3/4";
Straight from the Nest,  for the presents border (button 40, F4) which is used on the bottom, three sides.
The tiny sentiment, "for my sweet friend" is from a set of stamps called Tiny Tag Sentiments from Our Daily Bread.  The "sweet birthday wishes" sentiment was typed on the computer.

At Bitten by the Bug 2 the theme is "Sweet."
At Die Cuttin' Divas the theme is a shaped card.
At Paper Play Sketches there is a color challenge: Navy Blue, White, and Brown.

Please, visit these sites to see what other entrants and design teams have done.

Putting together a post took a while because I am very rusty at doing it--but I succeeded.
Thank you for stopping by.

Tissue Box Cover for a Young Girl

Welcome.  I've decided to get back into cricut challenges again.  The challenge at Fantabulous Cricut is to make a Kid's theme project and this tissue box cover I just finished is just right for it.

The girl figures were cut from the Cricut Create a Friend cartridge, at 3 1/2 inches.  The corners on the top were cut at 1 inch from the Picturesque cartridge.  The vertical edges were made using a border punch on both sides of a 1 1/2 inch strip of paper.
The basic box was made from medium weight, acid-free cardstock which I purchased through Marcos Paper.
These boxes take a good bit of time but they come out so nice.  I also made one (minus the lace) for a young boy with sports figures from the same cartridge.

Thanks for checking it out.
Happy Creating.

Back to School Challenge at Exploring Cricut and More

Welcome to this week's challenge--Make a card, layout, or paper project using any cutting machine, and use  a 'back-to-school' theme.

I used the Cricut Create-a-Friend cartridge for my card.

I've fallen in love with this cartridge.  All of the figures come out so cute and they are easy to assemble.  I think I cut most at 2 1/2 inches, the boy at 2 inches.
The paper, which looks like the kind that was used to practice cursive, was in a pack of cardstock I have called Celebrations.

Let us see your version of a back to school project at Exploring Cricut and More and please continue to visit each day to see what our design team has to offer.  Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Creating.

Another Birthday card for Exploring Cricut and More

Hello, again.  This week I've been trying out my new Cricut Happily Ever After cartridge.  I thought one of the fairy godmothers and this sentiment stamp would be a perfect match.

I cut the fairies at 3 1/2 inches.  The white banner came from Cricut's Small Talk and Frames cartridge.  The stars were in the Cricut Create a Friend cartridge with the little ballerina.
I still have one more fairy to do, a blue one.  I don't know which I like more; they're all so cute.

Inside is a simple "Happy Birthday" cut from the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge.  I didn't realize I used so many different cartridges until I started this list.  It's great to find the little accessories in different cut collections

Please continue to stop by Exploring Cricut and More  for daily inspirations from our design team.  And, join us next Monday for another challenge.

Happy creating.
