Welcome

You are invited to share with me the Joy there is in creating Art. I mean the "I can do it" and "it's fun" and "it's beautiful" kind of art, whether it is "museum quality" or not. Here you will find some of what I like to do and, I hope, share some of your joy, too.

Welcome to my blog, Rae Ann.

Christmas in July Blog Hop

Welcome to the Exploring Cricut and More Christmas in July Blog Hop.  If you are following the Hop you should have arrived from Donna'a blog, www.kindredcreations.blogspot.com.   If you just happened by and would like to atart at the beginning go to Exploring Cricut and More for the Blog Hop list.

The theme, as I said, is Christmas in July.  There is blog candy available for some lucky winner along the way if you are a follower of Exploring Cricut and More.

I wanted to make a shaped card for my project.  Except for the words, everything was cut at 5 inches.  The papers came from a Recollections pack called 'Botanical Noel' which I bought at Michaels.

I used the following Cricut cartridges to made this card:  Small Talk, Frames and Tags for the background shape;  Winter Wonderland for the snowflake; and, 3 Birds on Parade for the words.  (I ended up cutting the words once at 1 1/4 inches and once at 1 inch and using the words of similar size for this card.  Originally, one is smaller than the other.)
There is a crystal rhinestone in the center and I added silver lines along the snowflake to glitz it up.  I wish it showed up better in the photo because it looks great.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the blog hop.  Your next stop is Emily at www.emilyqueenofallthingscrafty.blogspot.com.

Happy Creating

Cricut Choice Challenge at Exploring Cricut

Welcome to this week's challenge.  It's called "Cricut Choice".  Make a card, layout, or any papercraft project using at least one patterned paper, 2 cricut cuts, and 3 colors.  It can be any theme.

My choice was another Christmas card using the new Winter Wonderland cartridge.  I decided to use red, green, and gold as my colors. The decorative spray at the top was cut at 2 inches; the bell was cut at 2 1/2 inches.  I used a small piece of decorative cord to connect them.  I didn't use one of the paper layers that came with the design because I don't have the kind of gold paper I imagined for this project; I used glitter glue in the decorating instead.

The banner I used is from the Phrases cartridge.  I cut it at 1 1/4 inches.

We at Exploring Cricut look forward to seeing you interpretation of this challenge.  Please join us with your entry.
Happy creating.

Another Christmas card for Exploring Cricut

After playing with the A Quilted Christmas cartridge I splurged on the new Winter Wonderland cartridge with designs by Anna Griffin.  I ended up making several of this card.  I love it !!
Each design is planned to work with 4 colors.  This has 2 shades of red, the green and the yellow.  I added leaf veins with a distress marker and accented with gold stickles.  I'll be making more of these.

Thanks for stopping by.  Don't forget to visit Exploring Cricut each day to see what the design team is doing with the fun and versatile cricut. I really love playing with all the possibilities.

Happy creating.
