Welcome

You are invited to share with me the Joy there is in creating Art. I mean the "I can do it" and "it's fun" and "it's beautiful" kind of art, whether it is "museum quality" or not. Here you will find some of what I like to do and, I hope, share some of your joy, too.

Welcome to my blog, Rae Ann.

Busy with Inchies!

I've done a lot more inchies than I've posted recently.  I like to share some of them.

Every Inchie Monday - Pink
The background is made with a soft rose ink pad so it's not a "pinky" pink.
One of my upcoming swaps calls for inchie envelopes:

These were fun to make.

I've also been playing with shades of one color by layering shading and stamping.  Here are red, brown, pink, and blue.

I tried a new technique which I found at Go Make Something.  It's Iris pattern #1; I made it into a twinchie.

With the scraps from this I made backgrounds for these:

That's all for today, although I have even more that I haven't posted.  Have a great day.

The next Monday Inchie

I've really been busy.  I made several sets of inchies as well as this Monday Inchie but I haven't had time to post them.  Soon.....

Easter Monday Inchie

The theme for this week is JOY.  A happy baby under a sky of fireworks came to mind and that's what I tried to make.

Every Inchi Monday - JOY

I hope everyone had a joyous Easter.  May blessings be yours all year.

This Week's Monday Inchie

Things have been very busy for me, in a good way.  I'm still making inchies but I haven't had time to photograph them and post.  Here's this week's inchie for Every Inchie Monday.  Other stuff will be posted later.

A Fun Weekend

Allentown was visited by a Rubber Stamp & Paper Show this weekend.  Wonderful things to see (and buy)!  I learned some wonderful techniques at the Stampland booth.  I'll describe more later.
Here is my completed inchie for this Monday's theme: PEACE.

A New Week - New Inchies

The snow never came (thank goodness) but a lot of rain did.  It is April after all.

For this Every Inchie Monday the theme is 'sing' and the image I thought of right away was 'singing in the rain' so I found the perfect image online.

Every Inchie Monday - Sing

For this swap the challenge is to use only newspaper.
I cut out the black section of a big page add to make
the fan elements.

This swap theme is 'blue' so I dug through my
stamps again.

The actual swapping is getting closer.  I can't wait to enjoy the creative efforts of others in my group.

When the weather is bad - make inchies!

Tomorrow is April 1 and they are predicting snow.  It looks like I'll have a day to make more inchies.  Here are my recent additions:
Every Inchie Monday - Winged

These are for a swap - technique of choice
I really enjoy layered collage.

Swap theme - Birds (obviously)

Swap theme - Torn Paper
Here's my trio of pairs, again.

I did these just for fun using heat embossing
and watercolors.

I think this catches me up for now.  Some
ideas are floating around to play with later.
Think spring!

Here I Go Again

Wow! I've done a lot since I last posted.  It was a lot of fun, too.  Here are the fruits of my efforts.

This inchie is for a swap - technique of my choice - Watercolors

I had fun doodling during a TV show with this one.

What if there were a mermaid theme?

The theme for this swap is Africa.  I like to create similar pairs
with different aspects of the same theme.
Every Inchie Monday - Rhythm

A swap theme - Circles

Just for fun - Ladies

Another swap theme - Orange

This swap theme was for technique of choice.  I used
heat embossing with watercolors.

This swap theme is Vintage.

This swap theme is Food.  I decided to depict 2 meals,
before and after, in my six inchies.

As you can see I've been busy.  Being creative keeps me alive and happy and this is certainly doing that.

This Weekend's Results

I've been working on more of my swap themes.  Here are some of them:
This completes the seashell set.
One theme was 'select your own theme.'
I came up with 'funky hearts.'

Every Inchie Monday for this week is "Endless."
This is a Mobius Strip.  In math it is described as a shape without an end point.

After some better photos there will be more to follow.  Have a great day.

Every Inchie Monday - Dance

I made 2 versions of a 'dance' inchie.  In one, the threads make an illusion of motion; in the other, the wavy lines do.

Every Inchie Monday - catching up

I've tried again to photograph and enlarge my inchies.  Some are a little blurry but they are much better than before.

Cosmic Inchie

My Cosmic Inchie
Cosmic Inchie for Every Inchie Monday

My First Inchies

These were the first inchies I ever made - no special theme except a feel for inchies.

This was my first attempt for "Every Inchie Monday"; the theme, COSMIC.
