I had a lot of fun making this card.
This is a 5 x 7 easel card. The digi is one of Digi Darla's and will be entered in her challenge. Cricut cuts were used for the background hills and cattails (Everyday Paper Dolls) and the flower (my new Flower Shoppe cartridge). A little green glitter glue (say that fast) adds sparkle to an inner layer of the flower.
The flourishes are from a set I picked up on a clearance table; the dragonfly is a small decorative button (I broke the back loop off). I hand cut the lily pads and used distress inks to add finishing touches.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Digi Darla's Challenge Blog- Anything but snow
Little Scrap Pieces- Use green
Pile It On- Sending Happiness
Cardz TV DT Challenge #6- Anything Goes

Welcome
You are invited to share with me the Joy there is in creating Art. I mean the "I can do it" and "it's fun" and "it's beautiful" kind of art, whether it is "museum quality" or not. Here you will find some of what I like to do and, I hope, share some of your joy, too.
Welcome to my blog, Rae Ann.

Inchies Display
There was a discussion on how to display inchies in one of my groups recently. I've tried several ways already, including the inchie storage sheets. I decided to try another. I found this plaque at the dollar store. I didn't measure it but I'd gues it's about 8 x 10 inches.
Because the design is simple I just mounted the inchies right on the plaque using small foam dots. Here's my new wall art:
There was a little space left on the bottom so I used some neutral colored ribbon, made a bow in the center and added some pearls. I was back at the Dollar Store today for a few more plaques.
Happy creating.

Tag It! Simon Says Challenge Blog
This tag is a combination of experiments. I am entering it in the Simon Says Challeng Blog.
I cut the tag from design paper using the Cricut Picturesque cartridge. The flourish loops are from this cartridge also.
The bird is done in grayscale; I'm experimenting with digital art. It came from a free digital kit included with the book, Paper + Pixels. The kit is called 'Touch of Funk' by Kim Christenson.
The flower was created based on a video link a friend sent me. It is the Lite Workshop 3 by Linda Manning Findley at Altered Art Online Workshops. I used cuts from the George and Basic Shapes and Linda's technique to create the flower.
I threaded the sheer ribbon along the right side of the tag and up to the top. The left side of the tag I destressed using Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo distress ink.
Lace from Jo Ann's on the bottom and some pearls and charms at the top and Voila!

I'm Giving Away Some Goodies for My Blogaversary
I created my first blog entry on Feb. 24th of 2011. It's been great to gain experience, meet new people through blogging and have people find my blog and leave such great comments. To celebrate I put together a few goodies for one of my lucky followers. I will give them away on Feb. 29th.
In this picture: A pack of 6x6 Designer Paper from My Mind's Eye, A set of clear Tag Stamps (incorrectly packaged which is probably why I found them on sale), 4 Mini Block Stamps and a clear block from Inkadinkado, 2 packs of Pearls and 1 pack of Rhinestones from Queen and Company, 2 Paper House Diecuts (a phone and a typewriter), and 2 Paper House Bookmarks (Baby Blocks and a Black Lab.)
Be a follower and leave a comment to win. Get a second chance if you mention my giveaway in your blog with a link back to my blog.
Thank you all. Happy Creating.

Fun with Puns at Fantabulous Cricut
Never say never. I thought I would never use "hogs and kisses" because the first time I read it I groaned; I thought it was so corny. I never use the phrase "stinkin' cute." Well, guess what? I think this card is SO STINKIN' CUTE!
The farmer, pig, and grass all came from the Cricut Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. The sentiment came from Cricut's 'Just Because' cartridge. I LOVE how it turned out.

Cooking with Cricut Challenge #72 - Valentine, black, brads
I enjoyed the Love Song Blog Hop that Cooking with Cricut had this weekend so I wondered what song I would use for a card. I came up with "You Light Up My Life." I used the George and Basic Shapes cartridge for the heart and its shadow; I used the Picturesque cartridge for the wings. Because I used a light bulb as the 'light' the card has a steampunk-ish flavor to it. (There are yellow brads are in the light bulb.) I like it.

I am also entering this card in the Die Cuttin Divas Challenge since I used pink and black. Click here to see more of those entries.

Flashback Friday - First Black and White Card
Here it is. I used 4 clear stamps I got from a $1 bin, put on the sentiment and stamped 'Get well soon' inside. No earth-shatterer but it was my first black & white card.

Valentiny's for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #96/Cooking w/ Cricut #71
I love that word 'Valentiny's'. I've done twinchies and thrinchies but never cards this small (3x3). I wanted to use something I never do. I don't have little kids around so I never use some of the cute animal cuts that are around. I decided to go for a "Wild about you" theme. I used the Cricut Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge for the animals.
I especially love the little zebra. These were fun.
I am entering these in the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge # 96 and Cooking with Cricut #71
FCCB challenged 3x3 Valentines; CWC required a Child's Valentine with pink, red, and white.
Happy creating.
