Welcome

You are invited to share with me the Joy there is in creating Art. I mean the "I can do it" and "it's fun" and "it's beautiful" kind of art, whether it is "museum quality" or not. Here you will find some of what I like to do and, I hope, share some of your joy, too.

Welcome to my blog, Rae Ann.

Working ahead

I've been working ahead on inchie themes scheduled for June, July and August in my group Inchies-onexone.  When I sit in front of the TV in the evening I can't sit still.  If I have a theme I can work on I do it then.  Here's another that's ahead of its time.  The theme is NUMBERS.

Numbers

It's been a long time.

Once I joined paperfollies it seemed time on the blog got put aside.  I was too busy creating things.  One of the challenges was to make a paper bag book.  I had never heard of one but once I got started I was hooked.  I liked the first one so much I kept it and made another one for the challenge.  Here are some pictures:

I decided to keep swapped items from paperfollies in the first one.  It's great for storing ATC's, Twinchies, 4x4's, etc.

This is the second one I made.  The theme was nature so I filled it with pictures and quotes about nature.  I left a few blank spots, too, so the owner can add some of his/her own.

That's all for today.  I'm going away for 10 days so it will be a while until I blog some more.  Until then,  enjoy creating.

New projects for Paperfollies

I've joined the Yahoo group, Paperfollies, and I've been very busy.  They do a variety of very clever projects in the same styles used on inchies:  ATC's, cards, altered art, etc.  Here are some of my recent masterpieces.

House - 5x7 - Paperfollies project May 2011
This house was a lot of fun to do.  I created a "wordle" on line related to the types of art I do.  My face is peeking through the window and my cat is below it, in the corner.  The decorative circle is a painted button.

This project, called Foil Mail, was fun, too.  I hadn't seen this technique in a long time.

I don't usually make cards so it was a nice change to give it a try.

For the mosaic challenge I tried to use a technique called faux-mosaic that I learned about on-line.  It didn't come out like the example but I like the look.  It reminds me of mosaics found at ancient sites, like Pompeii.

And last, but not least, the ATC's - a pair of Graffitti and a pair of Zetti style.

I HAVE been busy --- HAVING FUN!

My Wordle

I know something wasn't done correctly but by using the link, my art wordle, below, you can see the word cloud I made from words that describe the art I do.

Busy with Inchies!

I've done a lot more inchies than I've posted recently.  I like to share some of them.

Every Inchie Monday - Pink
The background is made with a soft rose ink pad so it's not a "pinky" pink.
One of my upcoming swaps calls for inchie envelopes:

These were fun to make.

I've also been playing with shades of one color by layering shading and stamping.  Here are red, brown, pink, and blue.

I tried a new technique which I found at Go Make Something.  It's Iris pattern #1; I made it into a twinchie.

With the scraps from this I made backgrounds for these:

That's all for today, although I have even more that I haven't posted.  Have a great day.

Easter Monday Inchie

The theme for this week is JOY.  A happy baby under a sky of fireworks came to mind and that's what I tried to make.

Every Inchi Monday - JOY

I hope everyone had a joyous Easter.  May blessings be yours all year.
