Welcome

You are invited to share with me the Joy there is in creating Art. I mean the "I can do it" and "it's fun" and "it's beautiful" kind of art, whether it is "museum quality" or not. Here you will find some of what I like to do and, I hope, share some of your joy, too.

Welcome to my blog, Rae Ann.

Thank You

I saw a Saturated Canary digi on another blog site and it really caught my eye.  I ended up getting 2 of their images and this little miss Thank You is one.

I haven't been coloring digi people for long.  I used colored pencils to have a bit more control and I'm very happy with how she turned out.

This is an easel card.  The patterned paper on the base is from a Recollections pack called Paisley and Damask.  The curly corner was cut with the cricut Picturesque cartridge (I use that one a lot).  The oval came from that cart, too.  A Martha Stewart punch was used on both sides of a strip of paper for the band across the base.  The 'thank you' was a $1 stamp I found at one of my local craft shops and the flower stickers are Special Moments I got on a lucky day at the Dollar Tree.  A bit of leftover lace runs down the left side of the front.

I had trouble getting the free digi at My Paper Crafting and, although all the samples have hearts, I didn't see that the digi had to be a valentine.  (I am over-valentined at this point) soooooooo
I am entering this card in Digi Desserts Fridaze at My Paper Crafting.   Click here  to see all the entries.

I hope you like her, too.
Happy creating.

Color Blocking - Thank You Card #2

This is my second entry in the Twisted Tuesday Challenge, color blocking with at least 3 colors.

For this card I printed the same image on 3, 3-inch strips of cardstock.  Then I cut them each into one inch pieces and rearranged their parts so that one complete image is made of 3 different colors.  I like how it came out.

Make sure your visit Twisted Tuesday Challenges to see all the entries for this color blocking challenge.
Happy Creating.

Color Blocking - Thank You Card #1

Twisted Tuesday has a challenge to use color blocking with 3 colors.  After refreshing my memory by following their link to examples I decided to make 2 cards using the 2 styles that caught my eye.  Here is the first.

The color blocks on this card were made by pressing an ink pad directly onto the card.  The image and sentiment were stamped on afterward.
Sorry for the poor lighting in this picture.

Happy creating.
